A solo analyst sizing up one site, a design studio collaborating on a live deal, and an enterprise landlord auditing a portfolio across offices all need different sharing tools. Core: built for one person
Core is a single-user account. There is no Team & member management, so you cannot invite anyone else into your workspace. See Tiers.
Core cannot co-author a project, and cannot share a project with anyone else to edit. View is the only access level Core can grant. Whoever you share a project with can look at it, never change it. To let someone else edit a project alongside you, you need Team or Enterprise.
You can still share a project with another person by email, at View access, even if they are licensed in a different workspace. See Share Projects.
Layers cannot be shared with anyone. Layer sharing is unavailable on Core entirely. See Share Layers.
You can still publish a project as a public link, viewable without a Giraffe account. See Publish Projects.
There are no Teams, no Guest access level, and no way to share with a workspace, since a Core account has no other workspace members to share with.
Team: built for a small team working together
Team accounts support up to 10 workspace members.
Every member you invite gets Edit-level workspace access. Team tier does not offer inviting someone as a workspace-wide View-only, Guest, or Admin member. That range of workspace roles is an Enterprise feature. See Member Permissions.
Individual project sharing by email goes up to Edit or Admin. Guest is not offered for an individual share.
Create a Team to bulk-share with a group of members who work together, at Guest, View, or Edit access. See What are Teams?.
A project Admin can also share with the entire workspace, always at View access.
Projects, Spaces, Templates, Content Packs, Files, and Layouts can each be shared with a Team or your whole workspace, the same as with an individual.
Layers are the one exception. Sharing a layer with one person at a time works on Team tier, and sharing a layer with a Team or your whole workspace does not. That is an Enterprise feature. See Share Layers.
Apps and Credentials are Enterprise features. Team tier cannot create, manage, or share either one.
Enterprise: built for organizations at scale
Enterprise accounts have no seat limit enforced in the sharing UI.
Invite a member at any workspace role, including View-only and Guest, not just Edit. See Member Permissions.
Guest is available as an individual, by-email access level for Projects and Spaces, on top of View, Edit, and Admin. See Guest Permissions.
Layers can be shared with a Team or your whole workspace, not just with individuals. See Share Layers.
Apps and Credentials become available to create, manage, and share. An App can be shared with an individual or your whole workspace, but not with a Team: Apps have no Team-based sharing option on any tier. A Credential can never be shared with an individual, on any tier, by design. It can only be shared with a Team or your whole workspace, always at View access.
Workspace administrators get audit mode, to see, edit, share, or delete any project or space in the workspace, whether or not it has been shared with them. See How to see all projects in a workspace.
Individual workspace properties can be marked visible to Guests. See Edit Workspace Properties.
