Juggling multiple projects is typical for any successful business. You can ditch the project management software and use Giraffe to share information and keep track of your work.

Set Up Workspace Properties

The most important part of a project management solution is ensuring the project statuses match your company's language and workflow. Luckily, Giraffe's workspace properties are completely customizable!

Some typical project management fields could be:

  • Status

  • Type

  • Due Date

  • Project Owner

  • Notes

Create the fields and values that work for your business.

Create a Project Management Space

The workspace properties you created will be added automatically to all of your projects. Now you just need a home space to manage their inputs!

Create a new Space centered on your main market area. If you work in a few different markets, it might be worthwhile to create a space for each.

Update Project Values

Once you have created the workspace properties you need, you'll want to update all of your projects to have the correct status, assignees, dates, etc.

You can easily update workspace property values using the Portfolio Layer.

Use Filters

Once the workspace property values have been input for all of your projects, you can use the properties to filter your portfolio layer.

  • Filter to all of the projects assigned to a specific person

  • Filter to show only projects with a specific status

  • Use a boundary filter to geo-fence the portfolio in your space

Style the Portfolio Layer

Lastly, a common way to display projects in a project management home space is to color the projects by Status using the style settings.

Open up the style settings.

Add a label, with project name as the first property.

Add more properties to the label if desired.

Then, color the label by status.

You can optionally add a fill or outline and colors those using different properties, such as assignee.
