View lets someone open content and see what is in it, without being able to change, share, or delete anything. It is the safest level to grant when you are not sure what someone needs, and it is available for every type of content in Giraffe.

A project Viewer can open the project and see its model, layers, and data. Viewers cannot create or edit content, and cannot share, change permissions, or delete the project. See Project Permissions.

A Space Viewer can open the Space and see its layers and data. Viewers cannot create or edit content, and cannot share, change permissions, or delete the Space. See Space Permissions.

A layer Viewer can find the layer in their Layer Library and use it in a project. See Share Layers. If someone already has access to a project, they inherit View access to every layer in that project's Layer Palette, unless the layer has been marked sensitive.

A template is a project nominated for reuse, so template View access works the same way project View access does: open the template and see its content, without being able to change it. Create a Template recommends sharing a template at View access, to prevent someone accidentally editing it.

Someone with View access to a layout template can use it to start a new layout of their own, in the same project or Space, without being able to change or share the template itself. See Add layouts and Share layouts.

Files attached to a project, like reports, surveys, or 3D models, follow that project's permission level rather than having their own sharing dialog. Anyone with View access to the project can open and download its attachments. See Project Attachments.

A file in your File Library is a different thing from a project attachment: it shares the same underlying structure as a content pack. A file Viewer can see and use it, the same as a content pack Viewer.

A content pack Viewer can see and use what is in the pack. See Share a Content Pack.

An app Viewer can add and use the app in their projects, without being able to edit its configuration or share it further. See Share an App.

Credentials do not use the graded Admin, Edit, View, and Guest system the way other content does. A credential is shared with a Team or your workspace as a whole, and separately with the apps that need it, rather than assigned an individual permission level. See Share a Credential.

Workspace View is a broader role, set when a member is invited. A workspace Viewer can view the projects and spaces that have been shared with them, without being able to create anything of their own. See Member Permissions and Governance in Giraffe.
