Duplicating a project lets you iterate without losing any data.
A duplicated project inherits everything from the original:
Geometry
Usages
Layers
Analytics
Files & Attachments
To duplicate a project, select menu > duplicate
Then, click Save
Give the project a name, and save it to open the duplicated project.
