Turn on the Grid
Use the G hotkey to quickly toggle the grid on and off.
Or, go to ... > Snaps & Grid, and toggle the Grid on
Snap to the Grid
With snaps enabled, your cursor can snap to grid points
Edit the Grid
Set the size and orientation of the grid.
Go to ... > Snaps & Grid, and select "Edit Grid"
Click at the first point. Enable snaps to snap the map or geometries.
Type the grid size you want (i.e. 15 ft)
Click again in the direction you want to consider project North. Enable snaps to snap the map or geometries.
Align Top View to Grid
If your city grid does not align to cardinal directions, or even if your site has an orientation that is difficult to work with, you can set a Project North using the grid.
Go to ... > Snaps & Grid, and toggle "Align Top View to Grid."
Toggle off = aligns to true north
Toggle on = aligns to Grid north
