Duplicate Groups

What happens when a group gets copied

By definition, groups are unique, one-off objects. The group id must be unique within the project.

When a group is copied, a new group is created with a new group id - by appending a number to the group name.

The geometries are also duplicated, rather than referencing the original group. The copied group is an entirely new unique object - unrelated to the first group it was copied from.
