Images can be added to the map as layers using the image layer creator. This allows you to import images, fit them to a relevant area on the map and add them as a context layer to one or more of your projects.
Gather your Files
The Image import works with PDF, .JPG, or .PNG files. The images can be black and white or color. PDFs must be a single page.
Access the Layer Upload Applet
Navigate to the Layer Palette, then click “New data layer”
When the Layer Library opens, click “Create new Layer” on the right hand side
The dropdown displays all of the layer type options. Select Image
The layer applet will appear in the right hand palette.
Upload a File
Click Browse
Select a file on your computer
Click "Next"
After uploading the image, it will be placed at the center of your current screen in 2D view.
Enter details about the layer
Give it a name and description
Click "Next"
Adjust the image to sit correctly on the map using the editing controls. The process varies slightly for PDF versus Images

Crop
After the initial PDF import, resize, and crop, the steps are the same. Continue to IMG/PNG to finalize the layer

Rotate
Adjust the image opacity using the slider of the “Layer being edited” in the menu to the left.
Click "Save"
