BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a digital, collaborative process used in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry to create and manage virtual 3D models of buildings and infrastructure projects. These models are more than just 3D representations; they contain rich, intelligent information about a project's physical and functional characteristics, allowing various project stakeholders to share and access data throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial design through construction and operation.

Revit is Autodesk's Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, used in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry to design, model, document, and construct buildings and infrastructure. It allows professionals to create intelligent 3D models with parametric data, enabling collaborative workflows between disciplines by linking architectural, structural, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems.

Giraffe Exports to IFC for BIM

Use the IFC app to generate an .ifc file.

Follow your software's instructions to import .ifc.

IFC format is great for use with BIM because the file type is natively editable in almost any BIM software.

Bring BIM Into Giraffe

Export as GLTF from the BIM software, then upload the 3D model.
