Delete a layer that is out of date or was uploaded by mistake, so nobody adds it to a new site study. Deleting a layer removes it from the Layer Library permanently.
🚨 Warning: Deleting a layer removes it from every project that uses it. To take a layer out of one project only, remove it from the project.
Which layers you can delete
These steps work for every layer in the Layer Library:
Uploaded files: GeoJSON, Shapefile (.zip), KML, DXF, and CSV
Esri services: FeatureServer, MapServer, ImageServer, and SceneServer
Map services: WMS, XYZ tiles, and Mapbox tiles
3D: Cesium 3D Tiles
Images: image overlays
Drawing layers hold the geometries you draw. Delete a drawing layer to get rid of one.
Delete a layer from a project
Click the 3-dot menu next to the layer in Layers.
Click Manage…. The layer settings open.
Click Delete layer in the Danger zone.
Click Delete in the Delete layer? window to confirm.
Delete a layer from the Layer Library
Open the Layer Library.
Search for the layer.
Click more at the far right of the layer's row.
Click the gear icon to open Manage Layer.
Click Delete layer in the Danger zone.
Click Delete in the Delete layer? window to confirm.
The Delete layer button only appears for people with permission to manage the layer.
