Use the isochrone app to visualize travel distance for many modes of transport.
An isochrone, from the Greek root words iso (equal) and chrone (time), is a line that connects points of equal travel time around a given location.
Add the Isochrone app from the App store.
Open the app by clicking the icon in the app selector. The app icon looks like an isochrone.
Add a Point
Click to add one:
Places the isochrone point at the centroid of the current project boundary.
The point includes a helpful label.
Adjust Settings
Adjust the isochrone settings in the app panel
Travel Mode
Select walk, bike, or car.
Travel Minutes
Type a value. Try 10, 20, or 30
As you adjust settings, the isochrone will update on the map.
As you move the point, the isochrone will update on the map.
Save the Isochrone
Once you are happy with the isochrone settings, click "save result to permanent layer"
Your isochrone shape is added as a static GeoJSON layer
