Defaults are the editable values that show in the properties palette when you add a Usage. They are properties that you want to include on every geometry, but may vary instance to instance - such as levels, stack order, or dwelling counts.

To add properties to edit values of defaults, click Edit defaults.

Add properties, adjust their values, then save

Any new geometries created with these defaults will include those properties and values at the feature level by default.

Defaults vs Standard Usage Properties in Property Palette

Property values set in the defaults behave slightly differently than property values set in the main form area of the Usage.

Standard

Defaults

Locked by Default in Properties

Editable by Default in Properties

Clearing value reverts to Usage default

Clearing value reverts to null

Existing geometries inherit changed standard form values when usage is saved.

Existing geometries retain current value when default is changed. Only new geometries inherit the new value.
