Base Model vs Scenarios

Use Base Model for geometries that don't belong in a scenario

In most projects, there are elements that are fixed, regardless of option or scheme. This might be circulation, landscaping, or even a podium structure.

If the designed element should remain the same regardless of scenario, put it on the Base Model!

When you start a project, everything lives on the base Model by default. Until you add a scenario, there is no other option.

Once you add scenarios, you can assign elements between scenarios and the base model dynamically as you go.

You can assign geometries to the Base Model two ways:

  1. Remove all scenario tags from the Scenario property selector in the properties palette

  2. Draw the element with the Base Model activated (green pencil)
