Layers in Spaces

Add contextual data to your Spaces to get the full picture

Written by Holly Conrad Smith

Layers in Spaces work exactly the same way as Layers in Projects.

Add Data layers from the Layer Library or Upload new ones.

Adjust layer visibility and save your changes.

Explore and style vector layers in the Data Table.

Spaces also always include a Portfolio layer by default.

The main difference you'll notice is Spaces do not have drawing layers because you cannot draw in Spaces.

Interrogate Layers in Spaces

Just like projects, you can right-click on any map polygons to see more information or action them.

  • Select an item from the list to see its details in the right bar.

  • Copy its coordinates to your clipboard

  • Or, open Google Street View for the location in a new tab

Use Layers to Create Projects in Spaces

Right click a map polygon to see its details.

Select an item from the list, then click "create new project."

The project save menu appears. Give the project a name, apply a template, and update its properties. Click save to create the project.

Set Default "Active" Layer

Left Click to interrogate layers activates when a Data Table is open. Select any vector layer in your space to be open in the data table by default.

Open Space Settings

Select default layer

The space will always open with that layer active in the data table.
