There are multiple ways to set the boundary depending on your requirements.
Option 1: Draw a boundary manually
From scratchpad, you start with no boundary. The Start Project menu appears in the top right of the map.
Click “Draw Project Boundary” in the toolbar
This activates the boundary tool and boundary toolbar.
Draw your boundary by placing points.
The boundary tool works the same as for any other shape in Giraffe.
Use S to snap to the map.
Select and move points or extrude edges.
Double click to end the boundary command.
Continue editing as needed. Add more polygons, style the boundary, and more from the toolbar.
Click Save project in the top right
Option 2: Set the boundary to a map geometry
This method is especially useful when you have access to a spatial data layer for your parcels, plot lines, cadastre, or the like.
Right click on a map element and click 'Set project boundary' on the contextual menu.
Right click on additional polygons and add them as desired.
Select and move points or extrude edges. Use S to snap to the map.
Click "save project" in the top right
Option 3: Set the Boundary using Data Table
Click the 3 dots to the right of the layer name. Select “Open Lens Controls”
Click any layer shape on the currently-Lensed layer with Lens Controls open.
Select the checkbox on the layer in the list to add the polygon to the selection set.
Create Project from Selection
With one or more polygons selected, click “Add to new project” to create a new project with that polygon as the boundary.
The project save modal appears. Edit the project name, add a template, and edit workspace property values
If the polygons are contiguous, they will be combined into a single polygon boundary.
If the polygons are non-contiguous, a multi-polygon boundary will be set using each polygon as an element in the multi-polygon boundary.
With multiple polygons selected, Click “create multiple projects from selection” (double arrow button) to create one project from each polygon.
The project save modal appears. Select which polygon to edit from the dropdown.
Change the project name, add a template, and edit workspace property values.
