There is a Preview button at the bottom of the organize layout tab of the places app. Click preview to see the final version without publishing.
In preview mode, check the following:
Welcome modal content
Header color
Header logo
Header title
Right bar size and transparency
Order of locations, themes, and carousel items
Appearance of images in carousel items
Views assigned and transitions between carousel items
You can also edit carousel item names and content and theme names in the preview mode.
To exit preview mode, click "End Preview"
