Units help your analytics calculations to have meaning in reports. They also drive subtotaling. Manage your units from this menu.

Click the cog icon in the top right of the Analytics app

The settings screen appears. Select Units on the left.

  1. The list of units in the current project

  2. Unit name

  3. Unit abbreviation

  4. Hidden/shown status

  5. Count of calculations using that unit

  6. Edit the Unit

  7. Delete the Unit

  8. Add a new Unit

Create/Edit Units

Units allow you to measure any quantity you need to in your projects. Create custom units for things like:

  • Areas (km, acres)

  • Time (days, weeks, years)

  • Different Currency Values ( $, €, £ )

  • Special counts like dwellings, parking bays, or jobs

Click new unit or the edit icon (pencil) to bring up the Unit edit screen.

  1. Give the unit a name. This displays in the dropdown selection in your calculation builder

  2. Give the calculation an abbreviation. This appears in your analytics report tab

  3. Allow/Disallow it to subtotal

  4. Hide it from selection in the calculation builder

Hiding from selection is useful when swapping between metric or imperial templates. You can show/hide only relevant units to end users without having to completely remove the other unit type.

Delete Units

Click the bin icon to delete a unit.

Confirm the deletion. You can review how many calculations use that unit before deletion.

  • Cancel: return to unit editor

  • Delete: delete unit from project and return to editor

Calculations with missing units will not compute.

Edit the calculation to add a new unit.
