Projects belong to your workspace
Every project lives in your workspace. A Space does not hold projects of its own. A Space is a map view that shows projects from your workspace through its Portfolio Layer.
You don't move a project into or out of a Space. To change which Space a project shows up in, change that Space's Portfolio Layer filters, or change the project's property values so it matches the filter.
One project can appear in several Spaces at the same time. It shows up in every Space whose filters it matches.
Filter the Portfolio Layer in a Space
A Space's Portfolio Layer filters decide which projects appear in that Space. You can filter by workspace property values, by a boundary, or both.
Open the Space and filter the Portfolio Layer to choose which projects it shows.
Common Space filters include:
Status is a specific value, such as Active or Under Contract
Project Owner is a specific person
A boundary filter that geo-fences the Space to one market
Set up a pipeline view with status filters and colors when you use a Space for project management.
Change a project's properties to show it in a Space
When a Space filters by a workspace property, such as Status or Project Owner, a project appears in that Space when its value matches the filter. Change the project's value to add it to or remove it from that Space's view.
In the Portfolio Layer's Data Table, double-click a cell to edit its value.
Select several rows and use bulk edits to change many projects at once.
In the Portfolio, click a project, then click the pencil next to a property.
Show a project inside a Space's boundary filter
When a Space uses an include boundary filter, it shows only projects whose whole project boundary sits inside the filter boundary. A project that crosses the edge of the filter boundary does not appear, even when its property values match. Redraw or enlarge the Space's boundary filter so it fully covers the project's boundary.
An exclude boundary filter works the other way. It shows only projects that sit completely outside the filter boundary. A project that touches or overlaps the filter boundary is hidden.
A project that straddles the edge of a boundary filter is hidden by both an include filter and an exclude filter.
Why a project doesn't display in a Space
A project may be missing from a Space for one of these reasons:
A property filter on the Space's Portfolio Layer excludes it.
The project's boundary isn't fully inside the Space's boundary filter.
The project is outside the current map view. The Portfolio only lists projects in the area you're looking at, so pan or zoom out to find it.
You don't have access to the project. The Portfolio shows only projects you have access to. Ask the project's owner or an admin to share the project with you.
