A usage stores the assumptions behind a unit type: floor-to-floor height, parking ratio, finishes, cost. Giraffe ships with a standard catalog of usages. If you've deleted one you need, or never had a usage that's since been added to that catalog, you don't need to reset your whole project to get it back.
Where the standard catalog lives
A brand new, untouched project always reflects Giraffe's current standard usage catalog. This isn't a one-time copy. It's a live default that only changes for a usage you've actually edited or deleted yourself. Any usage you haven't touched stays in sync with Giraffe's current standard set automatically.
Reset all usage data in Project Cleanup overwrites every usage in the project with this standard catalog in one click, including any custom usages you've built. Use the steps below instead when you only want back one or two standard usages, without losing your own work.
Create a fresh source project
Start a new, blank project. You don't need to draw a boundary or do anything else with it. It's only there to give you an untouched copy of Giraffe's current standard usages to import from.
Any existing project can be a source too, as long as you're sure it hasn't customized the usage you're after. A fresh blank project is the safest choice, since nothing in it has been edited.
Import the usage you need
Open the Content Library and go to the Workspace tab's Projects section.
Open the blank project you just created.
Find the usage you want in its usage list and add it to your project.
If your project doesn't already have a usage with that name, Giraffe adds it directly. If it does, Giraffe asks you to choose: keep both and create a new copy, replace your existing usage with the imported one, or keep your existing usage as-is.
