A saved view locks in a camera angle, layer combination, and look you already set up in Giraffe. Drop that exact shot onto a Paper sheet to keep a hero massing shot or context image fixed in place while you keep iterating on the model elsewhere.
A saved view is different from a Viewport. A viewport renders your live Giraffe model inside Paper and updates as the model changes. A saved view drops in a screenshot of a view you already created and saved in Giraffe. Make one first with Create a View, or see Viewports in Paper for the live alternative.
Insert a saved view
Insert a saved view onto the current sheet in two steps.
Click + Saved view in the Insert bar at the bottom of Paper.
Under Insert, pick the saved view by name. It drops onto the sheet as a screenshot.
A saved view made from a plan or section scales to a clean architectural scale automatically. A saved view made from a 3D or perspective camera keeps the proportions of its original screenshot instead.
Update saved views
Refresh every saved view already placed on the page in one action. Click + Saved view and choose Update saved views at the top of the menu. This pulls the latest screenshot for each placed saved view that isn't frozen.
Switch which saved view a tile shows
Select a saved-view tile on the sheet. Its floating controls include a dropdown listing every saved view in the project, so you can swap the source it displays without deleting and re-placing the tile.
Keep a saved view live or frozen
Each saved-view tile has a live / ❄ frozen toggle. A live tile picks up the latest screenshot whenever you run Update saved views or reopen the file. Freeze a tile to lock in the version you already have, for example a shot a client has already approved.
A frozen tile is skipped by Update saved views and by Paper's automatic sync when you reopen the file. You can still refresh a frozen tile on its own with the tile's ↻ button.
Adjust scale, title, and description
Select a saved-view tile to adjust how it reads on the sheet. Pick a fixed scale from the scale dropdown if the source view has a real-world scale to work from, or leave it on Fit. Edit the title and description text shown under the tile, or hide the title, description, scale bar, or scale label individually.
