Turn a working massing study into a client-ready render without leaving Giraffe. AI Reimagine sends a view tile or image through Google's Nano Banana / Gemini model and hands back a styled render, while the geometry underneath stays exactly what you drew.
Reimagine a view tile or image
Reimagine works on a placed view tile (plan, section, elevation, axonometric, or 3D perspective) and on any image already on a sheet, including one you've already reimagined. Walk through it step by step the first time.
Select the tile or image you want to reimagine. Its floating controls appear above it.
Find the style preset dropdown in the floating controls. It lists every preset, grouped into general presets and presets tuned for plan-view tiles.
Click the dropdown and pick a preset. Or choose
Custom…to write your own prompt from scratch instead of using one.Optional: click the
▾toggle next to the dropdown to expand the prompt editor and read or edit the exact text behind the preset. If you change it, an↺button appears so you can reset it back to the original wording. See Edit a prompt below.Optional: click
📄to preview the exact prompt Paper is about to send, including the system prompt if it's on, with a button to copy it. See Check what gets sent below.Optional: turn on
📐if you've drawn colored annotations you want the render to read, and leave it off otherwise. See Guide the render with colored annotations below.Press
✨. Paper sends the tile or image, flattened together with any annotations drawn on it, to Nano Banana / Gemini.Wait for the render. Nano Banana returns a new image, and Paper places it next to the tile or image you started from. The original is untouched.
Compare the result against the original. Select the new image and press
✨again with a different preset to try another look, or delete it and start over.
If a render still looks pixelated or rough, select it and run the Upsample (de-pixelate) preset on it, or use Settings → Advanced → Upsample 3D tiles to clean up every 3D tile on the page in one pass. See Reimagine every 3D tile at once below.
Style presets
Pick from a built-in list of presets, split between general presets and presets tuned for plan-view tiles. Every preset shows up in the dropdown for every tile type, so a plan-tuned preset is still selectable on a 3D tile and vice versa. The table below describes the look each preset aims for.
General presets
Cleans up pixelation and jagged edges without changing anything else about the image.
A plain architectural study-model render, proportions and outlines unchanged.
A polished competition-board render: soft overcast light, realistic materials, photographic people and trees, a restrained colour grade.
The same competition-render treatment lit by hard, direct sun with crisp shadows and a clear blue sky.
Low warm dawn light with long shadows, a pink-to-blue sky, and light ground mist.
Overcast, soft light with rain in the air, wet reflective ground, and figures under umbrellas.
A loose hand-drawn pen sketch on off-white paper, no colour.
Black ink outlines with soft watercolour washes in a muted earthy palette.
An all-white physical study model shot in a studio, form read through light and shadow alone.
A hand-painted watercolour presentation drawing in a warm, earthy, non-saturated palette.
A hand-cut paper-and-paint collage of magazine clippings and gouache, jazzy off-key colour.
A golden-hour aerial photoreal render with realistic materials, green roofs, and lush landscaping. Reads coloured annotation strokes as material cues on its own, without needing the system prompt on.
A flat, graphic massing diagram that keeps each volume's existing colour, so the colours can still encode land use. |
Plan presets
Tuned for a plan-view tile: each one keeps the plan a true top-down orthographic drawing, with no added labels, dimensions, or north points.
A loose, luminous plan watercolour with bleeding washes and bare paper left for light.
A quiet, desaturated plan watercolour in putty, sage, and stone tones.
A flat, competition-board style plan diagram with a tight four-to-six colour palette.
A classical drafted plan with solid black poché walls and hatched paving, in the Nolli tradition.
A photograph of a physical card-model plan, cut matte board seen from directly above.
A flat zoning diagram that keeps each parcel's existing colour, so the colours can still encode land use.
Pure black-ink technical linework: no fills, no colour, no shading.
A landscape architect's planting plan, where buildings sit quietly and planting is richly drawn.
A photorealistic straight-down aerial photograph, with real roof materials and ground surfaces. |
Pick Custom… instead of a preset to write your own prompt from scratch. There's no fixed look to preview since the result depends entirely on what you write. Have fun!
Edit a prompt
Every preset's prompt is editable. Select a tile or image, click the ▾ toggle next to the style preset dropdown to expand the prompt editor, and change the text. Press ✨ to render with your edited version. An edited preset shows an ↺ button next to it, so you can reset it back to the original wording at any time.
Credential
AI Reimagine needs a Nano Banana / Gemini credential. Add one in Settings → Credentials, under Nano Banana / Gemini.
Guide the render with colored annotations
Draw markup on a tile or image before reimagining it to steer specific parts of the render.
Color guidance only applies when the system prompt is turned on, using the 📐 toggle in the floating controls. It's off by default for every preset except Aerial render, which reads annotation colors regardless of the toggle.
With the system prompt on, green strokes read as planting or soft landscape, blue as glazing or water, red or orange as a material accent or highlight, and black or dark strokes as people, shadows, or contextual detail. Draw over a render or a tile in these colors, then press ✨ again.
Check what gets sent
Two more toggles sit next to the style preset dropdown. 📄 previews the exact prompt Paper will send, including the preset or custom text and the system prompt if it's on, with a button to copy it. 🐛 opens the flattened image Paper is about to send in a new tab, useful for checking exactly what the model will see.
Reimagine every 3D tile at once
Upsample every 3D view tile on the current page in one pass instead of one at a time. Open Settings → Advanced and click Upsample 3D tiles. This runs the Upsample (de-pixelate) preset on every 3D tile in sequence, which can take a minute on a sheet with several tiles.
