How to:

  1. Draw a Rectangle or Polygon

  2. Click “Open flow builder”

  3. Select "Quick Transform" and then select "Parking Lots". Click "add flow"

  4. Click “edit defaults” to set the starting values

  5. Edit the settings and outputs in Properties

Settings

  • Set the length and width of the bays

  • Set the width of special use bays (ie handicap spaces)

  • Adjust the bay angle

  • Set the width of the roads between bays

  • Set a max run (the length of bays before a road is inserted)

  • Determine if islands should be included by setting an interval (ie every 10 bays) and set their width

    • Island interrupt runs of bays at an interval or count of bays

  • Add Edge islands and set their radius

    • Edge islands cap the ends of inner runs of bays

  • Add center islands and set their width

    • Center islands go between perpendicular facing bays in inner runs

  • Toggle open center islands

    • For drainage or pedestrian access

  1. Island

  2. Edge Island

  3. Center Island

  • Toggle open corners

  • Toggle Symmetry

  • Toggle boundary road

  • Choose Reference Edge

    • Change the direction the inner lanes generate.

IE - selecting a different reference edge will rotate the inner bays to align with the selected edge.

  • Add an exclusion zone

    • Exclusion zones remove parking bays from within the defined boundary and generates spaces along its boundary

    • Click to place points. Double click to end the command

    • Delete an exclusion zone by clicking the red X

    • Add as many exclusion zones as you wish

  • Add a no-parking zone

    • Unlike exclusion zones, No parking zones do not add bays around the edge of the zone

    • Delete by clicking the red X

    • Add as many as you wish

  • Add a special use zone

    • Special Use zones apply the special use bay width property to an area, and applies a hatch

    • Delete a zone by clicking the red X

    • Add as many zones as you wish

  • Add a special lane

    • Special lanes are lines that generate rows of bays on either side
